{"id":231,"date":"2009-04-26T06:50:21","date_gmt":"2009-04-26T06:50:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/primaryschooling.net\/?page_id=231"},"modified":"2012-07-16T23:27:28","modified_gmt":"2012-07-16T13:27:28","slug":"school-based-revolution","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/primaryschooling.net\/?page_id=231","title":{"rendered":"A School-based Revolution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Suppose<\/span> Australians want the country to produce high quality citizens,\u00a0 achieving at their maximum potential and enjoying the experience of learning about anything that takes their fancy,\u00a0 whether it be vocational, aesthetic, sporting, health,\u00a0 recreational &#8230;any personal interests that detracts from anti-social,\u00a0 boredom-inspired activity.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Suppose<\/span> it wants its pupils to experience a well-tailored, school-based, teacher-friendly, time-conscious curriculum that encompasses these goals instead of\u00a0having to focus\u00a0on lower-cognitive skills just to pass examinations.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Suppose<\/span> it needs its citizens to be happy because they like learning new things that satisfy needs and bring happiness and contentment as they age.<\/p>\n<p>There is no need to follow the lead of U.S.A.,\u00a0 Britain,\u00a0 Finland or institute a modern version of the Revised Code. Australia has the talent to create a system that leads the world in achievement,\u00a0 business,\u00a0 environmental care, providing opportunities,\u00a0 health care and every other thing that makes life lively,\u00a0 because there is a pervading quest for excellence from Year One to Year Twelve.<\/p>\n<p>Australia \u00a0needs home-grown school leaders who know what they are doing. There are plenty available.<\/p>\n<p>The alternative is a reliance on sanitised political spin and hard-nosed totalitarian ordinances.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s examine a structure that is certain to work.\u00a0 It will require some robust political gumption to institute. The Ministerial Council for Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs [MCEETYA] will have to initate the processes of change even though some members\u00a0will have to commit positional harakiri.
